Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has shared how his former outfit can compete for laurels in the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.
The Soweto giants has already augmented their squad with five new signings as they seek to compete for trophies next season.
Kaizer Chiefs missed out on the top eight in the South African Premier League despite ending their trophyless drought last term, prompting a massive squad augmentation.
However, the former Amakhosi goalkeeper, who spent 20 years with the Soweto giants has implored the club to make significant investments by signing a top goalkeeper and a striker to challenge for title.
“Strikers don’t come cheap, let’s be honest. They don’t, because strikers win you matches. If you have a quality striker and a quality goalkeeper, you know you will challenge for the championship every season.
When you invest in a good striker and a good goalkeeper, you’re guaranteed to be challenging for the title. So Kaizer Chiefs really need to go to the market and invest in a striker,” Khune stated in an interview with Soccer Laduma.
