Kaizer Chiefs legend Theophilus Doctorson Khumalo has backed Orlando Pirates star Sipho Mbule to be South Africa’s main man at the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Mbule, who recently joined Pirates from Mamelodi Sundowns has showcased flashes of his brilliant talent at the club, earning him a recall to the South African national team.

However, Khumalo has tipped the 27-year-old midfielder for Bafana Bafana stardom ahead of the AFCON tournament to be staged in Morocco later this year.

“I strongly believe that he will be capable to give us what we want as a country in Morocco, because he’s an experienced player and a very gifted young boy. Mbule can be able to deliver for us as a nation,” Khumalo told iDiskiTimes.

The enterprising midfielder has made four appearances for the South African national team since making his debut back in 2017.

Mbule has made four appearances for Orlando Pirates in the South Africa Premier League campaign. He penned a one-year deal to join the Soweto giants after exiting Mamelodi Sundowns.
