Miguel Inacio eyes Angola return

Kaizer Chiefs defender Miguel Inacio has revealed that one of his biggest ambitions in football is to earn a return to the Angola national team.

The defender, however, insists his immediate priority is helping Kaizer Chiefs achieve their objectives, with a demanding season ahead for the Amakhosi.

Inacio has made it clear that he is not allowing thoughts of a national team recall to distract him from his club responsibilities. Instead, he is focused on staying fit, performing well in training and delivering strong performances for Chiefs.

“I can’t lie, I would say that I would love to be back in the national team, but I’m very focused right now on the goals with Chiefs. We have a lot of competition, we have a lot of games to play,” Miguel said.

“I can’t be playing against Sekhukhune or Sundowns, thinking if I should be called again to the national team.

“It’s not even on my mind. On my mind is the upcoming opposition. I’m not thinking about coach Aliou or the national team because it’s not my next move.

“My next move is being fit, training well and being prepared to be a choice for the coach Fernando da Cruz.”

Inacio’s comments highlight his desire to force his way back into the Angola setup through his performances at club level, with the defender determined to remain ready should national team coach Fernando da Cruz decide to call on him again.
