Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel suspended for Carling Knockout quarter-final

Kaizer Chiefs will be without defender Inacio Miguel for their Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final against Siwelele FC after his dismissal in the Soweto Derby.

Miguel was shown a red card late in the derby, triggering a suspension that rules him out of the upcoming cup tie.

The defender had featured in all of Kaizer Chiefs’ league matches so far this season. However, he did not play in the previous round of the Carling Knockout Cup, when the Amakhosi beat TS Galaxy 3-0.

Siwelele FC will also be missing a defender for the quarter-final, with left-back Aphiwe Baliti suspended after being sent off in their last-16 match against Polokwane City.

Baliti received a second yellow card in the 107th minute of that tie. Siwelele FC nevertheless progressed after winning the contest on penalties.

The quarter-final is scheduled for Sunday at 15:00 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
