Kaizer Chiefs confirm four injury concerns before Stellenbosch FC clash

Kaizer Chiefs will be without four players for their Betway Premiership meeting with Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, 13 October.

The match marks Amakhosi’s return to league action as they attempt to end a run without a victory. Kick-off at the Calabash is scheduled for 19:30.

Among the absent players is new signing Langelihle Phili, who joined the Glamour Boys from Stellenbosch FC at the beginning of the current campaign.

The 21-year-old winger made an encouraging start, scoring once in three appearances across all competitions. However, an ankle injury has kept him out of Chiefs’ past four matches.

The club has also provided updates on Brandon Petersen, Lebohang Maboe and Siphesihle Ndlovu.

“Chiefs still have four major injury concerns, with Brandon Petersen returning to individual training recovering a knee injury, Lebohang Maboe – who has played in all eight of Chiefs’ games this season – nursing an ankle injury, while Phili and Siphesihle Ndlovu remain long term absentees,” the club said on its website.

Petersen has begun individual training as he continues his recovery from a knee problem, while Maboe is dealing with an ankle injury.

Maboe has featured in all eight of Chiefs’ matches this season, but is now sidelined alongside Phili and Ndlovu, who remain long-term absentees.
