Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has taken full responsibility for the club’s unimpressive performance this season.
The Soweto-based outfit has been inconsistent throughout the South African Premier League campaign, leaving them in the 9th position with 30 points after 26 matches into the campaign.
Nabi in an interview downplayed excuses after a string of unimpressive results in the top-flight, while shouldering responsibility for the struggles.
Meanwhile, the Tunisian gaffer is hopeful of turning things around for the Soweto giants.
“I understand the fans, the critics. The results are very poor, and I get it—but I know why I am here. I don’t want to make too many excuses. I take responsibility and move forward, with everyone heading in the same direction, making the right decisions for the future.
I am confident we will win together in this process. It’s normal—fans love to win, and I understand them. When you drop too many points, it’s natural to face this kind of reception, this negative reaction, but you shouldn’t take this criticism personally, because I believe in this process and know what needs to be done to move to the next stage,” Nabi told reporters.
Kaizer Chiefs have set up a tie against rivals Orlando Pirates in the South African Cup final on Saturday, as they seeks to secure first title since 2015.
