Head coach of Kaizer Chiefs Nasreddine Nabi has explained defender Alfred Given Msimango non-involvement in their clash against Chippa United in the South African Premier League.
The 27-year-old defender missed the side game against Chippa United, which ended in a pulsating goalless draw on Saturday.
Explaining his absence, the Tunisian trainer disclosed the Given Msimango is currently carrying an injury and emphasized the need for careful management of the player’s condition.
“We decided not to start with Given,” Nabi stated. “He’s been carrying this injury for the past two to three months, and we’ve been managing it week by week.”
The coach further explained their cautious approach: “This week, we prioritized giving him additional recovery time. While he was technically available to play, he’s not at 100%. That’s why we made the substitution in his position.”
The South African defender has made 11 appearances as a starter for Kaizer Chiefs in the soon end campaign.
