The Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC has been moved from 15:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, the Premier Soccer League has confirmed.
The match will take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with the change made to accommodate Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF Super Cup fixture against Algerian club USM Alger on the same day.
The PSL had initially scheduled the meeting between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele for a 15:00 kick-off. It has now confirmed that the fixture will start three hours later.
“The Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final match between Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele FC has been rescheduled, with kick-off moved from 15h00 to 18h00,” the league stated.
“The adjustment has been made in consideration of Sunday’s CAF Super Cup fixture involving Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Consequently, both Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches scheduled for Sunday will now kick off at 18h00.”
Sundowns’ contest with USM Alger is the continental commitment that prompted the scheduling revision, with the PSL adjusting both of Sunday’s Carling Knockout quarter-final kick-off times.
Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele are among the eight teams remaining in the competition and will meet in Polokwane for a place in the semi-finals.
The league also wished Mamelodi Sundowns well ahead of their bid for CAF Super Cup honours, while extending its best wishes to all eight quarter-finalists.
“The PSL wishes Mamelodi Sundowns all the best as they compete for CAF Super Cup honours and extends its best wishes to all eight teams competing in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals,” it added.
Tickets for all Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final matches remain available at R100 each through Open Tickets. The PSL said tickets can be bought online only.
