DR Congo international Maxi Nzengeli has extended his contract with Tanzanian giants Young Africans, warding off interest from South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs.
The 25-year-old has penned a two-year contract extension with Young Africans, keeping him at the club until summer 2027.
Nzengeli became a priority target for Kaizer Chiefs due to his versatility. He excels on both flanks, making him an ideal fit for the South African side as they look to inject more pace, skill, and creativity into their attack ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
His new deal signals an end to Kaizer Chiefs pursuit of the talented winger in the ongoing transfer window.
The Congolese forward joined Yanga in July 2023 from Maniema Union and made an immediate impact. He started 11 CAF Champions League matches, playing a key role in the team’s run to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
His performances have attracted attention across the continent, with several clubs, including the Kaizer Chiefs, showing interest.
