Kais Barry makes RSC Anderlecht switch after rising through club’s ranks

Kais Barry, the Belgian-Guinean centre-back, has joined RSC Anderlecht from the club’s reserve side, RSCA Futures. The 20-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027, making the move from Belgium’s second tier to the Jupiler Pro League.

Barry spent the 2025-26 season with RSCA Futures in the Challenger Pro League before switching to Anderlecht on 5 August 2026. The move keeps him within the same club structure but places him with the side competing in Belgium’s top division.

The Leuven-born defender began his development at Anderlecht after arriving from Lokeren’s youth set-up in 2018. He subsequently progressed through Anderlecht’s youth ranks before moving to Anderlecht Under-18s in 2022 and then joining RSCA Futures in July 2023.

Barry is listed as a right-footed central defender and stands 1.86m tall. His international eligibility reflects his Belgian and Guinean nationality, while his progression at Anderlecht has taken him from youth football to the club’s professional senior set-up.

His move comes as Anderlecht prepare for the 2026-27 campaign, including their involvement in Europa League qualifying. Barry was named in the club’s squad for the competition but had not made an appearance in the qualifying campaign by the time of his transfer.

The defender’s progression has followed a clear path through the Anderlecht system, with his latest switch ending his spell at RSCA Futures after three seasons. He will now be registered with RSC Anderlecht under a deal that runs through June 2027.
