CECAFA Kagame Cup: KCC FC to Miss Key Players Ahead of Group Stage
KCC FC will face a challenging start to their CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign as they travel to Tanzania without two of their top players. Goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi and midfielder Paul Mucureezi will both miss the tournament, dealing a significant blow to the Ugandan side’s ambitions.
Mugabi is sidelined due to an injury sustained in a friendly against Masavu FC two weeks ago, while Mucureezi is unavailable due to academic commitments, as he is currently sitting for his exams.
Additionally, new signing Richard Ayiko will not take part in the competition after failing to make the final squad list.
Despite these absences, KCC will be boosted by the return of striker Tom Masiko, who has recovered from illness in time to feature.
KCC FC departs this Thursday, July 12, and will compete in Group C against:
-
Azam FC (Tanzania)
-
Malakia FC (South Sudan)
-
Adama City (Ethiopia)
The team will look to navigate a competitive group and advance despite their early setbacks.
