Juventus set to snap up Ivorian Jeremie Boga permanently after loan impact

Juventus management is moving swiftly to finalize the permanent signing of Jeremie Boga following his remarkable impact since arriving on loan from OGC Nice in January.

The Ivory Coast international, who previously excelled in Serie A with Sassuolo, has rejuvenated his career in Turin after a turbulent period in France, convincing the Bianconeri hierarchy to trigger his purchase option well ahead of the summer deadline.

The 29-year-old joined Juventus on a free loan through June, but the agreement included a non-obligatory option to buy set at a modest €4.8 million.

Given his immediate integration into the squad, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juve chiefs are already preparing the necessary paperwork to secure him outright.

The proposed deal would see the former Chelsea youth product sign a long-term contract running until June 2029, with a net salary estimated between €1.5 million and €2 million per season plus performance-related bonuses.

Boga’s transition has been seamless, providing manager Luciano Spalletti with a versatile attacking weapon. Primarily deployed as a high-energy wing-back or a secondary forward, Boga has demonstrated a clinical edge, scoring twice in just seven appearances.

His goal-scoring contributions in recent fixtures against AS Roma and Pisa have highlighted his ability to influence matches as a “super-sub,” offering pace and one-on-one dribbling that had been missing from the squad’s tactical rotation.

The move marks a significant turnaround for Boga, whose time at Nice ended abruptly following a physical altercation with ultras in late 2025.

Since arriving at the Allianz Stadium, he has described the opportunity as a “blessing” that saved his professional career.

By securing a player of his caliber and experience for under €5 million, Juventus appears to have found a high-value solution to bolster their depth as they compete on multiple fronts.

With the technical staff satisfied with his physical condition and tactical discipline, the formalization of his transfer is expected to be one of the first pieces of business Juventus concludes for the 2026–27 project.
