Juventus secure Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr in Tottenham agreement

Juventus have officially confirmed the arrival of Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham, with the Senegal international joining the Italian club on a deal that could become worth up to €30m.

The 23-year-old midfielder will initially move to Juventus on a paid loan costing €2.5m. The agreement also includes an obligation to buy, set at €27.5m, meaning the transfer is structured to become permanent if all the specified conditions are met.

Should those requirements be fulfilled, Sarr will officially become a Juventus player at the end of the 2026/27 season. The total value of the operation could reach €30m, combining the loan fee and the eventual transfer payment.

Juventus announced the deal on the club’s X account. Sarr leaves Tottenham after attracting growing attention in the European market, with Galatasaray also reported to have shown interest in signing him in recent weeks. That pursuit was first revealed exclusively by Africafoot.

The move underlines the regard in which Sarr is held across Europe. His current market value is estimated at €30m, almost identical to the potential overall cost of the agreement between Tottenham and Juventus.

Sarr’s previous salary in England was reported to be €4,254,114 per year, equivalent to 2,765,174,100 CFA francs. His move to Serie A now gives him the opportunity to continue his development in Italy while taking on a fresh challenge with one of the country’s leading clubs.
