Massimiliano Allegri Named Juventus Head Coach Following Conte’s Exit
Juventus have moved swiftly to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach after Antonio Conte’s unexpected departure.
The former AC Milan manager, who was dismissed in January this year, has signed to take charge of the Serie A giants.
French newspaper L’Equipe reports that Allegri was chosen ahead of contenders Roberto Mancini and Zinedine Zidane. Despite Zidane’s strong ties to Juventus as a player from 1996 to 2001, the club opted for Allegri’s greater managerial experience.
Allegri inherits a Juventus side fresh from a successful period under Conte, who led the team to three consecutive Serie A titles.
