Juventus have entered the race to sign Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur, setting up a potential transfer battle with Premier League side Aston Villa for the midfielder’s signature this summer.
The Serie A giants have expressed concrete interest in recent days, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as they look to reinforce their midfield options under new manager Thiago Motta.
Bissouma, 27, is under contract with Spurs until the summer of 2026, but uncertainty over his long-term future has opened the door for potential suitors across Europe.
Tottenham are reportedly open to selling the Mali international for a fee in the region of £35 million.
Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton in 2022 but has yet to fully cement himself as a consistent starter under Ange Postecoglou, despite flashes of quality and a strong start to the 2023–24 campaign.
Aston Villa are also monitoring the situation closely. Unai Emery is believed to be a long-time admirer of Bissouma’s dynamism and ball-winning capabilities, and the midfielder could add depth and experience to Villa’s squad as they prepare for Europa League football.
The clock is ticking for Spurs to make a decision. If Bissouma is not sold or handed a contract extension this summer, he would be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1 and leave as a free agent next summer under the Bosman ruling.
With Juventus pushing and Aston Villa lurking, Tottenham must now weigh their options carefully—either cash in while there’s interest or risk losing him for nothing.
“Tottenham are seeking £35m to sell the midfielder this summer,” the report added, underscoring the club’s current valuation and willingness to negotiate.
Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as both Juventus and Villa evaluate their midfield priorities.
