VfB Stuttgart cruised past Jahn Regensburg with a commanding 3-0 win at Jahnstadion Regensburg in the DFB Pokal Round of 16.
The Bundesliga outfit showcased their class, extending their head-to-head dominance over Regensburg to three wins in as many meetings.
Stuttgart wasted no time asserting control, taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when Enzo Millot coolly slotted home Nick Woltemade’s assist. Nine minutes later, Anrie Chase doubled the advantage with a powerful header from a Pascal Stenzel cross.
The second half saw Stuttgart maintaining their 70% possession dominance. In the 59th minute, German-born Ghanaian prodigy Justin Diehl entered the fray, replacing Chris Führich. Diehl wasted no time impacting the game, delivering a sublime through-ball for Nick Woltemade, who netted the third goal in the 61st minute.
Despite spirited defending, Regensburg managed just one shot on target, underlining Stuttgart’s defensive solidity. With this victory, Stuttgart advances to the quarterfinals and shifts focus to their Bundesliga clash against Union Berlin on December 6.
Diehl’s promising cameo hints at a bright future for the young attacker.
