Former Olympique de Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara appeared yesterday before the Digne-les-Bains criminal court in France, facing charges of “complicity in extortion and attempted extortion.” The case stems from a punitive expedition targeting a car dealer who allegedly defrauded him in 2015.
According to reports, the prosecution has requested a three-year prison sentence, including one year of mandatory imprisonment, for the former Senegalese international. The court has reserved its verdict, leaving the outcome of the trial pending.
