Jurgen Klopp hails Mohamed Salah as one of the greatest

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has backed Mohamed Salah to be remembered as one of the greatest footballers in history, speaking in the wake of the Egyptian’s recent tensions with the club.

Klopp stressed how central Salah was to Liverpool’s success, highlighting his decisive role in winning both the Champions League and the Premier League during their time together.

Klopp explained that when he first arrived at Liverpool, he wanted fast wingers with skill, end product, and a natural eye for goal, qualities that made Salah stand out as a special player.

“Salah’s mentality is what distinguishes him from his competitors. He would return to pre-season training every summer with a new and improved skill… He would spend his free time developing his performance,” he said.

“I’m not saying he’s easy to deal with, but he’s also not difficult to manage. You’ll have problems with Salah if he doesn’t play, and you’ll have problems with him if you substitute him.

“Salah realized early on that he had to work harder, which is why Chelsea was perhaps the most important club for him to improve his performance.

“When he thought he was good enough, they would prove to him that he needed more, so he trained even harder to come back in good form.

“Salah never stops, that’s his mentality, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time,”
