Junior Olaitan Attracts Interest from England and Germany

Benin international Junior Olaitan could attract offers worth between €30m and €35m during the January transfer window, with clubs in England and Germany reportedly monitoring his progress at Beşiktaş.

According to Turkish newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, Olaitan’s agent has told Beşiktaş officials that he could bring forward offers in that price range when the transfer window opens in January.

The report suggests the midfielder’s growing influence at the Istanbul club has attracted interest from several major teams in Europe.

During discussions with Beşiktaş management, the agent reportedly said: ” If you wish, I can bring you offers between 30 and 35 million euros mid-season. “

However, the Turkish club are said to be satisfied with Olaitan’s performances and would prefer to assess their options at the end of the season rather than make an immediate decision on his future.

Olaitan remains under contract with Beşiktaş until 2029, giving the club a degree of control over any potential transfer negotiations.

Beşiktaş face important decision over Olaitan

Beşiktaş signed Olaitan from fellow Turkish side Göztepe for €5m. Since joining the Istanbul club, the Benin international has contributed six assists in 13 official appearances this season.

His performances for Beşiktaş, alongside his displays for the Benin national team, have reportedly helped raise his profile among clubs outside Turkey.

If offers reach the reported €30m to €35m range, a potential sale would represent a significant financial return for Beşiktaş on their initial investment.

However, the club would not receive the full transfer fee. A clause in the agreement with Göztepe requires Beşiktaş to pay 20% of any future resale fee to Olaitan’s former club.

That condition could become an important consideration if formal offers arrive during the January window.

Transfer interest remains unconfirmed

Although Olaitan’s agent has reportedly indicated that offers could be available, it remains unclear whether any interested club has submitted a formal bid.

The reported figures also remain claims attributed to Turkish media, rather than confirmed transfer offers.

Beşiktaş must therefore weigh any potential financial gain against Olaitan’s importance to the squad for the remainder of the season.

The midfielder’s contract, his contribution to the team and the terms of his move from Göztepe are all factors that could influence the club’s decision.

For now, the situation depends on whether the agent can turn the reported interest from England and Germany into concrete proposals that meet Beşiktaş’s expectations.

The January transfer window could provide a clearer picture of Olaitan’s future, but the Turkish club are reportedly prepared to wait until the end of the campaign before making a final assessment.
