Le Havre have set their sights on Junior Mwanga, the versatile 21-year-old defender from Strasbourg, as their top loan target for the remainder of the season, reports L’Équipe.
With the January transfer window underway, Mwanga has become a prime candidate for departure from the Alsace-based club, following his limited opportunities since moving from Bordeaux.
While Le Havre are eager to secure Mwanga’s services to bolster both their defense and midfield, financial constraints could complicate the deal. The Ligue 1 newcomers must offload players before registering new arrivals, making this transfer a balancing act. Mwanga’s adaptability, however, aligns perfectly with Le Havre’s tactical needs as they aim to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
If the move materializes, Mwanga will join the list of defensive departures from Strasbourg this winter. His fellow defender Saïdou Sow, 22, is also set for a temporary exit, with an agreement in place for a loan to Nantes until the season’s end. Both moves highlight Strasbourg’s reshuffling plans for their defensive lineup.
