Junior Ligue: Venezia left-back linked with HNK Rijeka move

Junior Ligue, the Swiss-Ivorian left-back at Venezia, has been linked with a move to Croatian club HNK Rijeka.

The 21-year-old is under contract with Venezia until 30 June 2028, but Rijeka are understood to be a potential destination as the club look towards the SuperSport HNL. The rumour emerged on 7 September, with no transfer fee or probability attached to the proposed move.

Ligue has yet to make an appearance for Venezia this season, either in Serie A or the Italian Cup. His current lack of playing time comes after he returned to the Italian club at the end of June following a loan spell with Mantova.

Venezia signed Ligue from FC Zurich in January 2026 for €2.5m. He was loaned to Mantova the following day and spent the remainder of the 2025-26 season there before returning to Venezia.

Born in Zurich on 21 March 2005, Ligue has represented both Switzerland and Cote d’Ivoire through his nationality eligibility. He stands 1.86m tall and plays as a left-back, favouring his left foot.

For now, Ligue remains a Venezia player, with his contract running for two more seasons beyond the current campaign.
