Jumaa Mashhour lauds Tala’ea El-Gaish players after impressive win over Al Ahly

Tala’ea El-Gaish coach Jumaa Mashhour lauded his team’s display after their 2-1 triumph over Al-Ahly in a postponed 15th-round Egyptian Premier League clash.

Speaking to ON Sport1, Mashhour said: “I thank the players for the victory against a great team. We achieved a moral victory in addition to 3 points, which will make a difference for us in the coming period.

“We played possession-based football from the start of the match, but the goal we conceded made the players retreat. However, I spoke with them between the halves of the match and asked them to put pressure on Al-Ahly, and indeed the players carried out the instructions.”

He continued: “In the second half, we dominated the match and were better than Al Ahly.”

The win marked Tala’ea El-Gaish’s third consecutive league victory, helping them pull further away from the relegation zone.

The club now sits 14th in the Egyptian Premier League with 22 points, confirming their spot in the relegation-threatened group of the second division.
