Julfin Ondongo: Congo centre-back joins Oman Club on free transfer
Congo defender Julfin Ondongo has joined Oman Club on a free transfer from Libyan side Murooj. The 29-year-old centre-back makes the move into the Jindal League as a permanent signing after leaving the club where he last played in Libya.
Ondongo strengthens the heart of Oman Club’s defence, arriving in his prime years as a specialist centre-back. His switch on a free transfer offers the Omani side experienced cover without a transfer fee, with his market value currently listed at around €75,000.
The move marks a new chapter for Ondongo after his spell with Murooj, where he built his reputation in North African football. His experience in a physically demanding environment is expected to be significant as he adapts to the competition in Oman.
Oman Club have turned to the Congolese defender as they reshape their squad for the upcoming campaign in the Jindal League, adding height and experience to their back line. Ondongo’s arrival completes the deal between the two clubs, with all registration formalities now concluded.
