Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde committed to Barcelona this summer
Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are determined to stay at Barcelona this summer, even with tougher competition for places under Hansi Flick.
Both defenders remain committed to the club and are not pushing for an exit.
Barcelona are prioritising attacking signings in the transfer window, and for now they do not see major changes needed in defence. The club are still open to big offers, but Kounde and Balde are focused on winning their spots rather than moving on.
Balde now faces stronger pressure at left-back after finishing behind Joao Cancelo last season. Barcelona are trying to keep Cancelo permanently from Al Hilal and are also tracking young talent Jorge Salinas. Even so, Balde is confident he can reclaim a starting role and intends to see out his contract, which runs until 2028.
Kounde’s position is similar. Injury problems interrupted his last campaign, but Barcelona still view him as an important part of the squad. The French defender is believed to be finding top form again with France and wants to keep fighting for a regular role at the club. His contract runs until 2030, and both players remain part of Barcelona’s long-term plans.
