Jude Bellingham appears to call Giuliano Simeone a ‘f coward’ during Madrid derby

Jude Bellingham appeared to describe Atletico Madrid forward Giuliano Simeone as a “f coward” during Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat in Sunday’s Madrid derby.

The incident came during a heated contest at Wanda Metropolitano, where tensions rose as Real Madrid tried to recover from falling behind. Simeone appeared to kick Bellingham as the visitors searched for an equaliser in the second half.

The 23-year-old England international immediately jumped to his feet and confronted the Atletico player. Veteran Atletico midfielder Koke attempted to calm the situation by pulling Bellingham away, but the Real Madrid midfielder appeared determined to have the final word.

Cameras broadcasting the match in the United Kingdom on Premier Sports appeared to capture Bellingham shouting: “Fuck you, you f bastard.”

The exchange added to an already fractious afternoon for the former Borussia Dortmund player, who has a previous dispute with Simeone dating back to last summer’s World Cup.

Bellingham had also been involved in an earlier confrontation with another Argentina international. Cristian Romero escaped a red card for a heavy challenge on the midfielder, even though the referee was sent to the video assistant referee monitor to review the incident.

Romero then appeared to mock Bellingham after the decision, further angering the Real Madrid player.

Bellingham’s frustration continued after the final whistle, when he followed referee Ortiz Arias to question him about several decisions. He was heard shouting: “Two red cards, two, two.”

The defeat had a significant impact on the league table. Real Madrid dropped to fourth place in the Spanish league, while Atletico moved into second before a three-week international break.

Real Madrid will return to action on Saturday, 10 October, when they host ninth-placed Villarreal. Atletico Madrid’s next match will be away to Alaves.
