Zamalek have confirmed an agreement for Brazilian forward Juan Alvina Bezera to join Shabab Al Ahli, bringing his one-season spell with the Egyptian club to an end.
The transfer was announced by Zamalek’s board, led by Hussein Labib, on Saturday, 19 September 2026, after the club said its requirements from the summer negotiations had been met.
Bezera had been absent from Zamalek’s pre-season preparations and missed the team’s matches after expressing his desire to leave during the current summer transfer window. His position created uncertainty around his future as the new season approached.
The 23-year-old returned to Cairo last Saturday following a period away from Zamalek training, but remained determined to pursue a move outside the club. Discussions with Shabab Al Ahli subsequently reached a final stage in recent days.
Zamalek had earlier given the player permission to travel to the United Arab Emirates for a medical examination, with the move to Shabab Al Ahli subject to the completion of the formal procedures.
The Egyptian club later issued a statement confirming the agreement.
“Zamalek’s board of directors, headed by Hussein Labib, announces that an agreement has been reached regarding the transfer of Brazilian Juan Bezera to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, after the requests set by Zamalek at the beginning of negotiations during this year’s summer transfer window were fulfilled,” the statement said.
Bezera made 44 appearances for Zamalek in all competitions last season, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists. Those contributions helped the club during its campaign across several competitions and marked an impressive first season in Egypt.
He also won the Egyptian Premier League with Zamalek last season, securing his first trophy with the club. Despite that success and his attacking output, his time at Zamalek ended after only one campaign because of his wish to move on.
Shabab Al Ahli had signalled the impending announcement earlier on Saturday with a message on its official account reading: “They searched for the announcement date… Dubai is the address.”
The club then formally confirmed the signing, announcing that its football company had completed the deal for Bezera, who arrives from Egyptian club Zamalek to strengthen the squad for the next phase.
The announcement was made under the sponsorship of Tiger Real Estate Group and was accompanied by the hashtag “Bezera is an Ahli player”.
Zamalek also published the confirmation of the agreement on its official account, stating that the transfer had been completed after the club’s demands were satisfied.
