Karim Belhocine expected to become the new head coach of JS Kabylie.

JS Kabylie are on the verge of naming Karim Belhocine as their new head coach, with the club indicating that an official announcement is expected soon after negotiations entered their final stages.

The Algerian club has been searching for a new manager ahead of the new season, and the appointment now appears to be nearing completion.

While club officials have declined to confirm the identity of the incoming coach, several reports suggest former Belgian Pro League manager Karim Belhocine is the leading candidate.

Belhocine, 48, has built his coaching career in Belgium, taking charge of Kortrijk, Charleroi and Anderlecht.

Discussions between the two parties are understood to be well advanced, with only the final contractual details still to be settled before the move becomes official.

JS Kabylie confirm announcement is expected soon

Speaking to the club’s official media, JS Kabylie spokesperson Kamel Yesli said supporters should expect news regarding the coaching position in the coming hours.

Although Yesli stopped short of naming the future manager, he explained that confidentiality remained necessary while negotiations continued.

That cautious approach reflects the fact that the agreement has not yet been formally completed, even though progress has been made between both parties.

The club has remained silent on the identity of its preferred candidate throughout the process, choosing not to comment publicly until every aspect of the negotiations has been finalised.

Karim Belhocine emerges as the preferred candidate

Among the various names linked with the vacancy, Karim Belhocine has increasingly emerged as the strongest option.

The Franco-Algerian coach has accumulated experience in Belgian football, managing Kortrijk, Charleroi and Anderlecht during his career.

According to information surrounding the negotiations, only a handful of contractual matters remain unresolved before both sides can formally complete the agreement.

Should the deal be completed, Belhocine would become responsible for leading one of Algeria’s biggest clubs into the new campaign.

Coaching search began before sporting changes

The pursuit of Belhocine is understood to have started well before the appointment of Yazid Mansouri as head of sporting operations.

Club management had already identified the former defender as one of their preferred options during the early stages of the recruitment process.

Another coaching profile, including Cameroonian coach Njoya, had also been considered as part of the club’s planning before Mansouri officially assumed his new responsibilities.

When Mansouri arrived, he inherited several recruitment projects that were already underway.

Other candidates considered before negotiations advanced

After taking up his role, Mansouri reportedly reviewed several additional coaching candidates as he looked to shape the club’s sporting project.

Despite assessing a number of profiles, none managed to secure unanimous backing.

As discussions continued, Belhocine’s candidacy gradually became the most convincing option.

The negotiations, however, required patience.

The former Belgian-based coach initially favoured pursuing other professional opportunities before talks with JS Kabylie gathered momentum.

Over time, both parties moved closer together, allowing negotiations to progress towards an agreement in principle.

Final contract details remain before official confirmation

Although an agreement in principle has reportedly been reached, the appointment has not yet been completed.

The remaining discussions concern the final terms of the contract, which must be agreed before JS Kabylie can formally unveil their new manager.

Until those final details are concluded, the club continues to exercise caution and has avoided confirming the appointment publicly.

However, with negotiations now believed to be entering their concluding phase, an official announcement is expected in the near future, bringing an end to the club’s search for a new head coach.

If confirmed, Belhocine will take charge of JS Kabylie as preparations continue for the upcoming season.
