JS Kabylie goalkeeper Gaya Merbah has emerged victorious in his legal battle against Moroccan club Ittihad Tangier.

FIFA has mandated the club to compensate the Algerian shot-stopper with 1,650,000 Moroccan dirhams (approximately $165,414.15) for unpaid wages. This ruling follows Merbah’s decision to seek justice after the club failed to honor its financial obligations.

Amid the legal win, Merbah also shared an encouraging update about his recovery journey. Two months after sustaining a double leg fracture during a friendly against US Biskra, the 29-year-old has begun rehabilitation. In an Instagram video, the goalkeeper was seen pedaling on a stationary bike, marking a significant milestone in his healing process.

Under the close guidance of JS Kabylie’s medical team and physiotherapists, Merbah is undergoing a rigorous recovery program. It includes physiotherapy, muscle strengthening, and mobility exercises designed to restore the injured leg’s functionality.

With steady progress and upcoming medical evaluations, Merbah is poised to return to action in the coming weeks, aiming to reclaim his place as JS Kabylie’s last line of defense.
