Greuther Fürth sporting director Stephan Fürstner has praised new signing Joshua Quarshie, highlighting the young defender’s physicality and athleticism as key assets for the team’s defensive setup.
Quarshie, 20, joins Fürth on loan from TSG Hoffenheim until the end of the season, seeking to revive his form after a challenging stint at Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he made just 16 competitive appearances in a year-long loan spell.
A regular in Germany’s U20 national team, Quarshie arrives at Fürth as the club fights to avoid relegation, currently sitting just three points above the drop zone.
Fürstner believes the center-back’s qualities will be crucial in helping the team stay competitive.
“Joshua was delighted by our interest and immediately signaled his eagerness to contribute here in Fürth,” Fürstner said.
“With his athleticism and physical presence, he already brings many of the qualities we seek in a center-back to strengthen our defense. We’re also pleased to have secured another German youth international for our squad.”
Fürth will look to Quarshie’s defensive stability as they push to maintain their place in the Bundesliga, with key fixtures ahead in the battle for survival.
