Al Ahly’s new coach Jose Riveiro wasted no time setting the tone for what promises to be a demanding buildup to the Club World Cup.
At Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium on Saturday, the Spanish tactician led his first official training session with the Cairo giants, outlining his expectations and laying out the groundwork for the upcoming challenge in the United States.
Riveiro began the day with a detailed team talk, focusing on team goals and the structure of preparations ahead. The squad then moved into intense physical drills led by trainer Miguel Pepeira, while Juan Jose took charge of a focused session for the goalkeepers.
The session saw the return of midfielder Hamdi Fathi, recently rejoining from Qatari side Al-Wakrah. Also back were promising youth talents Ahmed Abdeen, Abdullah Bustanji, and Ahmed Khaled Kabaka, all fresh off loan spells, alongside teammate Hamza Abdel Karim.
Al Ahly will be hoping to add the Club World Cup to the league title they won this season.
