Jose Riveiro files complaint at FIFA against former side Al Ahly

Former Al Ahly coach Jose Riveiro has lodged a formal complaint with FIFA over unpaid wages following his exit from the Egyptian giants.

According to multiple reports, Riveiro is insisting on receiving a full season’s salary as outlined in his contract, rejecting the club’s offer based on a termination penalty clause equivalent to just three months’ pay.

The Spanish manager maintains that his contract termination does not obligate him to accept the reduced settlement.

The matter has now been officially escalated to FIFA, which is expected to review the case and determine Riveiro’s entitlement in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly are set to face Smouha on Monday, February 23, at 9:30 PM Cairo time at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, as the Egyptian Premier League enters its 19th round.
