The head coach of the Nigerian national team, Jose Peseiro, provided the latest updates on the Super Eagles ahead of their encounter with Equatorial Guinea.

Nigeria will face Equatorial Guinea on Sunday at 4:00 PM Cairo time, marking the beginning of the group stage matches in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Group A.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Jose Peseiro stated, “Playing for Nigeria is not an easy task.

Two hundred million football fans want victory, and we must respond with good results on the field.”

Peseiro continued, “I am not talking about our recent results; I am talking about how to improve our outcomes.

We consistently create opportunities and need to find the right balance.”

He added, “We will give our best in tomorrow’s match.”

Continuing, Peseiro said, “Kelichi Ehinacho and Paul Onuachu have arrived in Ivory Coast, and it is expected that Terem Moffi will arrive tomorrow to join the national team for the tournament.”

As the Super Eagles gear up for the crucial clash, Peseiro emphasized the challenging nature of representing a football powerhouse like Nigeria.

Acknowledging the expectations from millions of passionate fans, the coach stressed the importance of delivering positive results on the pitch.

“We are focused on creating a better football experience for our supporters, and we approach each match with a commitment to improvement,” Peseiro added, hinting at the team’s ongoing efforts to refine their performance.

Expressing optimism for the upcoming game, Peseiro concluded, “Our aim is to present the best version of ourselves in tomorrow’s match, and we are prepared for the challenges that Equatorial Guinea might pose.”

The coach also confirmed the arrivals of key players, Ehinacho and Onuachu, and anticipated the timely arrival of Moffi, bolstering the team’s resources and enhancing their prospects in the tournament.
