Jose Mourinho praises Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho has offered strong support for Kylian Mbappe after taking charge of Real Madrid.
Speaking to El Chiringuito, the Portuguese coach praised the forward’s quality, attitude and commitment, insisting that the France captain operates at an exceptional level.
Mbappe joined Madrid in 2024 and has enjoyed impressive personal statistics, but the team have not yet added a major trophy during his spell. Mourinho’s arrival is intended to help the club return to its winning standards, with Mbappe expected to remain central to that ambition.
Mourinho said: “Mbappe is incredible. He sometimes makes me laugh in training because he is simply too good. He is at another level.”
The coach also highlighted the forward’s professionalism. Mbappe reportedly returned to Madrid earlier than required after the World Cup because he wanted to prepare properly for the match against Schalke. Mourinho admired that decision and the intensity the striker brings to every session.
“He trains hard, with the same commitment and desire I want to see,” Mourinho added.
The manager also defended Mbappe and Jude Bellingham against criticism from the Santiago Bernabéeu crowd, pointing to their outstanding World Cup performances and Mbappé’s place in football history.
