Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has revealed admiration for Spanish international of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams.
The duo were pivotal for Spain, who emerged as champions of the 2024 UEFA European Champions, held in Germany months ago.
Williams scored the opener when Spain inflicted a 2-1 win over England to annex the title.
Despite the hype around Yamal, Mourinho, who is currently the head coach of Fenerbahce says he prefers Nico Williams as he believes he is more talented.
Meanwhile, the outspoken Portuguese trainer is hoping Williams end up playing for Real Madrid.
“In the Euros, people were all saying Yamal, Yamal, Yamal…He’s a wonderful boy, but I, personally, prefer more of Nico Williams. I hope he ends up at Real Madrid”, told Cope.
Nico Williams emerged as top transfer target for Barcelona in the summer but he opted to stay at Athletic Bilbao.
The 21-year-old has made 21 appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists across the period.
