Rumors linking Jose Gomez to Al Ahly have been shut down by a club insider, who confirmed there are no plans to replace current head coach Marcel Koller.
Despite speculation surrounding the Portuguese tactician—currently leading Saudi side Al Fateh and formerly at Zamalek—the Cairo giants remain fully behind their Swiss boss.
A club insider told Kooora that Al Ahly’s management hasn’t approached Gomez or any other coach. Instead, the focus is firmly on Koller, who continues to enjoy the full backing of the board.
“Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, has emphasised his support for the coach and will be travelling to South Africa to support him during this difficult period,” the insider revealed.
He also clarified that no direct communication has taken place with Gomez.
“We are not responsible for negotiations or word of mouth from fans of the club to find out what the coach thinks,” he added.
