Jose Embalo has joined Luxembourg club FC Mamer 32 from San Cataldo, giving the Ehrenpromotion side an experienced centre-forward with honours from four different competitions.

The 33-year-old, who holds Guinea-Bissau and Portuguese nationality, completed the move on 11 August 2026. Embalo was born in Lisbon and stands at 1.88m, while his preferred right foot adds further detail to the profile of the forward now moving to Luxembourg.

Embalo arrives at FC Mamer 32 after his spell with Italian club San Cataldo. The transfer links a player with a varied career across several European leagues to a club competing in Luxembourg’s second tier, known as the Ehrenpromotion.

His previous achievements include winning the Romanian second division with Rapid Bucharest in the 2015-16 season. He later helped Casa Pia AC win the Campeonato de Portugal in 2018-19, before adding the Armenian Super Cup with Alashkert Yerevan FC in 2021-22.

Embalo’s most recent listed major honour came in Lebanon, where he became champion with Nejmeh SC in the 2023-24 season. Those successes provide a record of domestic silverware in Romania, Portugal, Armenia and Lebanon before his latest move.

The striker’s arrival gives FC Mamer 32 a forward who has played in a number of footballing environments during his career. His international background combines Guinea-Bissau and Portugal, while his role at the Luxembourg club is defined as centre-forward.

FC Mamer 32 have now secured Embalo’s addition to their squad, with the transfer from San Cataldo completed on 11 August 2026.
