Jordy Gaspar: Former Lyon and Monaco Right-Back Joins FC Rouen 1899 on Free Transfer
Jordy Gaspar has joined FC Rouen 1899 on a free transfer after a spell without a club, with the 29-year-old right-back signing for the Ligue 3 side on 7 July 2026.
The Angola and France dual national arrives as a free agent, moving from unattached status back into French football. His latest move comes with an estimated market value of 350,000, reflecting a recent decline from the 1 million peak he reached during his time at Grenoble Foot 38.
Gaspar returns to the French leagues after leaving Pau FC in July 2025. He had also previously been without a club before signing for Pau in January 2024, underlining a recent period of short-term stops following a more stable spell at Grenoble.
The defenders most sustained run of senior football came at Grenoble, where he played from 2020 to 2023 and saw his value climb steadily, eventually reaching the 1 million mark in late 2022 and mid-2023. Prior to that, he developed through the academies and reserve sides of Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco, stepping up from Lyons youth ranks to the first team before moving to Monaco in 2017.
Gaspars early senior experience included a loan to Belgian side Cercle Brugge in 2017-18, before he settled back into the French system with Monacos under-21s and then Grenoble. His switch to Rouen now marks the latest stage in a career spent largely in Frances professional structure, supplemented by that single stint in Belgium.
FC Rouen 1899 become the latest club in Gaspars career, adding an experienced right-back with extensive grounding in French football and a background at some of the countrys most prominent academies.
