Jordan Zirkzee: Dutch-Nigerian forward joins AS Trencin on free transfer from NAC Breda U21
AS Trencin have signed Netherlands and Nigeria-eligible centre-forward Jordan Zirkzee on a free transfer from NAC Breda U21. The 21-year-old moves to the Slovak club after two seasons in Dutch youth football and has been registered as an attacking option for the Nike Liga side.
Zirkzee, born in Schiedam and standing at 1.87m, arrives in Slovakia after a productive spell at under-21 level. Operating primarily as a central striker and favouring his right foot, he leaves NAC Breda’s U21 set-up having built a consistent scoring record across youth competitions in Germany and the Netherlands.
Before his move to Breda in 2024, Zirkzee developed in Bayer Leverkusen’s academy, progressing from the U17s to the U19s. Across his time in the German youth system he made more than 60 appearances in league and cup competitions, reaching double figures for goals and featuring in the UEFA Youth League. That experience has underpinned his transition from Dutch to German and now Slovak club football.
Zirkzee’s early pathway began at Spartaan before a long spell in Feyenoord’s youth ranks, from where he earned his switch to Leverkusen in 2021. His latest move marks his first step into a senior environment outside of youth and reserve divisions, with AS Trencin adding a physically strong, goal-minded centre-forward to their attacking options.
The deal sees Zirkzee join AS Trencin on a permanent free transfer from NAC Breda U21, with the move completed on 15 July 2026.
