Jordan Torunarigha cleared to face Freiburg
Hamburger SV have received a timely boost ahead of their home game against SC Freiburg on Sunday, with Jordan Torunarigha passed fit and ready to play.
Head coach Merlin Polzin confirmed at Friday’s press conference that the central defender is available for selection after recovering from a recent head injury.
The 28-year-old picked up the knock in HSV’s 2–1 away win over Eintracht Frankfurt and subsequently missed several days of team training as a precaution. However, he has now returned to full sessions and is back on the pitch with his teammates, easing defensive concerns for the weekend.
“All others are ready for deployment,” the coach underlined, confirming that Torunarigha is again fully available. With a key phase of the season underway, having the experienced defender back in the side is an important boost for HSV’s stability and ambitions in front of their home fans.
Jordan Torunarigha, who joined the club in July 2025, has made 23 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
