Jordan Lukaku slams Napoli over Romelu exit

Jordan Lukaku has launched a fierce attack on Napoli and Antonio Conte, accusing them of showing “no empathy” towards his brother Romelu Lukaku during one of the most difficult periods of the striker’s life.

Romelu mutually terminated his contract with the club after the 2025/26 season, following a complete breakdown in relations.

Jordan says the problems began after their father passed away in September 2025, when Napoli pushed Romelu to return to Italy almost immediately.

“Napoli showed absolutely no empathy or compassion toward him during that time. That is when the relationship with the club first broke down,” he revealed. Tensions then escalated when Romelu suffered an injury and the club signed a new striker, with Conte reportedly informing him he would only be used from the bench.

“Later, when Romelu suffered an injury, the club went out and signed a new striker, and Conte informed him that he would only be used as a substitute moving forward. Is the relationship with Conte broken? Mode definitely, yes,” Jordan added, making clear there is now little trust left between the coach and the Belgian forward.
