Jordan Ayew Breathes Easy After Move to Lorient
Jordan Ayew has expressed relief after completing his transfer from Olympique de Marseille to FC Lorient earlier this week. The youngest of the Ayew brothers described his departure from Marseille as a fresh start after a difficult period.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the Ghanaian striker admitted that a lack of trust from his former coaches made life at Marseille challenging. “It’s always strange because I have family there, but I left six months ago on loan and had no problems. I grew up there from 14 to 21, so that’s a long time ago,” Ayew said, according to France-Football.
Asked if he had any regrets about his time at Marseille, he was candid: “No. They never gave me any gifts, never really trusted me. People say it’s the environment, but I don’t think so. If you trust a player, he’ll be good.”
Now at Lorient, Ayew hopes to reinvigorate his career and repay the faith of his new club.
