As previously revealed, Jordan Ayew is set to embark on a six-month loan stint at Sochaux, currently positioned 19th in Ligue 1. The Ghanaian striker, seeking increased playing time absent at Olympique de Marseille, sees this opportunity as a means to sharpen his skills in preparation for the upcoming 2014 World Cup with the Black Stars.
The agreement in principle for Ayew’s transfer was jointly announced by Sochaux and Olympique de Marseille on Thursday. According to Om.net, “Olympique de Marseille and FC Sochaux-Montbéliard reached an agreement in principle this Thursday evening for the temporary six-month transfer of striker Jordan Ayew.”
The formalization of this transaction is expected to take place on Friday following the completion of the player’s medical examination.
