JORDAN AYEW: “I HAVE MATURED”

Jordan Ayew’s situation at Olympique de Marseille (OM) has undergone a significant transformation, especially considering the uncertainty surrounding his future during the previous summer transfer window. Back then, the Ghanaian striker expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of playing time he was receiving and was even linked with a potential departure to English clubs in the final days of the transfer market.

However, the narrative has changed since then. In the last season, Jordan Ayew played a substantial role for Marseille, featuring in 35 Ligue 1 matches, including 19 starts, and contributing with 7 goals. His performances played a part in helping Marseille reach the top of the league.

Now, Jordan Ayew has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the club. In an interview with L’Équipe, he expressed his commitment to Marseille, stating that he has everything he needs to succeed at the club. While he acknowledges his desire for more playing time, he recognizes the coach’s decisions and emphasizes his willingness to work hard to earn a prominent role, particularly in the center where he feels most comfortable.

Ayew reflects on his growth, attributing it to gained maturity and patience. He acknowledges that he can do better and credits his father, Abedi Pelé, and his brother André Ayew for providing valuable advice and guidance. The support and advice from his family contribute to his motivation to progress further in his career.

In essence, Jordan Ayew remains focused on his commitment to Marseille, hoping that his hard work will eventually pay off in terms of more playing time and success on the field.
