Jonathan Tah believes Bayern Munich will be walking into hostile territory when they face Flamengo in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
The German defender, who joined Bayern before the tournament began, has already featured in three matches and is prepared for a fiery showdown with the South American giants in the United States.
“I expect an away match like the Boca Juniors, because there will certainly be many South American fans at the stadium. Even then it will be important to get this seriousness on the square,” Tah told the club’s official website.
Tah knows Bayern must handle more than just footballing quality when they take on Flamengo, it’s the South American fire that could tip the balance.
“It’s South American intensity, that’s a bit of a different football. We need to adapt this – and on the other side we need to play our game.”
Bayern topped their group and now set their sights on reaching the final, with Tah’s leadership and composure expected to be key against a Flamengo side hungry for glory.
