Jonathan Tah isn’t rushing into Bayern Munich’s open arms just yet.
The 29-year-old defender, fresh off a strong season with Bayer Leverkusen, is keeping his options open, waiting patiently for Barcelona to sort out their financial fair play issues before committing his future.
Though Bayern Munich is pushing hard to wrap up a deal, hoping to land him on a free transfer once his contract expires on June 30, Tah is still holding out. He reportedly has a verbal agreement with Barcelona and sees new coach Hansi Flick as a key reason to join the Spanish giants.
Tah’s camp has confirmed that no final decision has been made, despite German media claiming otherwise.
While Bayern remains the most aggressive suitor, Tah is willing to give Barcelona time, even if no guarantees can be made.
According to reports in Germany the defender understands the risks, but his desire to work with Flick may outweigh the pressure to accept Bayern’s offer.
