Jonathan Tah has pushed back against talk of a “mini-crisis” at Bayern Munich after two games without a win sparked external criticism.

The defender insists the mood inside the camp is calm and focused rather than panicked.

“We’ve conceded a few more goals, more goals from open play. Before, about half of our goals conceded came from set pieces. That’s still the case, and that’s something we have to work on,” the Germany international told Sky. For Tah, the current spell is more about fine-tuning than falling apart.

He stressed that opponents have simply adjusted to Vincent Kompany’s ideas after months of analysis.

“But it doesn’t feel like we’re going through a bad phase. The other teams are adapting as well, they’re trying different things against us because they’ve now had enough time to analyse what Vincent Kompany wants to do,” he explained.

Bayern, he added, must now “adapt again ourselves,” suggesting this tricky phase “could already be over again” as the squad looks to rediscover its usual defensive solidity.
