John Paintsil urges Mohammed Kudus to stay at West Ham amid transfer speculation

Al Nassr table €100 million bid for Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus

Former Ghanaian international John Paintsil has advised Mohammed Kudus to remain at West Ham United for at least another season, despite growing interest from top European clubs.

Paintsil, who played for the Hammers between 2006 and 2008, believes that staying in London would be the best option for the 23-year-old midfielder unless an exceptional offer arrives in the summer transfer window.

“No need to rush a move,” says Paintsil

In an exclusive interview with Africafoot, Paintsil emphasized the importance of stability for Kudus at this stage of his career.

“I think it’s still too early for Kudus to leave West Ham. He is one of the club’s key players and is highly valued,” Paintsil stated. “Another season could allow him to develop even further and secure an even bigger move in the future.”

The former Black Stars defender highlighted the Ghanaian playmaker’s versatility and growing influence at West Ham.

He is an extremely talented player, capable of operating in multiple positions.

For both Kudus and West Ham to benefit fully from a future transfer, it would be best if he had another strong season.

That way, he could attract a top club, and West Ham would also receive fair compensation.

Strong performances draw interest from Europe and Saudi Arabia

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023, has been one of the standout performers for David Moyes’ side.

Since his arrival, he has made 70 appearances across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Manchester City, reportedly monitoring his progress.

Additionally, reports suggest that Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr and Al Ittihad are also keeping a close eye on the Ghanaian star, potentially offering a lucrative alternative should he decide to leave England.

West Ham still an ideal environment for Kudus

Paintsil insists that unless a truly extraordinary offer presents itself, Kudus should not rush into a move.

Unless an exceptional deal comes in, he has to stay.

There’s no reason to rush a departure,” he said. “Besides, he looks happy at West Ham, and he is the real star of the team.

Another strong season could make his next move even more rewarding.

Kudus remains under contract with the Hammers until 2028, giving the club significant leverage in any transfer negotiations.

With West Ham aiming for European qualification next season, keeping their star midfielder could be crucial to their ambitions.

Upcoming fixtures and transfer implications

As speculation about Kudus’ future continues, West Ham are preparing for their upcoming Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

The Ghanaian international is expected to play a key role as the Hammers look to solidify their league position.

While clubs across Europe and beyond continue to monitor Kudus, Paintsil’s advice suggests that patience could be the key to unlocking an even greater opportunity for the West Ham playmaker in the future.
