John Mano: Sudan forward linked with Azam FC move from Al-Akhdar

Sudan centre-forward John Mano of Libyan Premier League side Al-Akhdar is being linked with a move to Tanzanian club Azam FC as the Dar es Salaam outfit explore attacking options for the new campaign.

The 24-year-old, who wears the No 10 shirt at Al-Akhdar, has emerged on Azam’s radar after a season that saw him feature regularly in both domestic and continental competition for the Libyan club. Mano joined Al-Akhdar on a free transfer from Al-Ahly in October 2025 and is currently valued at around €100,000.

Azam are understood to be assessing a deal for the Sudanese forward as they look to add depth in the centre-forward position. Mano has built up experience in the CAF Champions League with Al-Akhdar, registering 15 appearances and contributing a goal and an assist in the competition, in addition to his outings in the Libyan Premier League.

Before moving to Libya’s Al-Akhdar, Mano had spells with Al-Hilal and Al-Sadaqa SC, including a loan stint with the latter, after leaving Kober Khartoum in 2022. His move to Al-Akhdar last season marked his first switch within Libya on a free, and his value has since peaked at €125,000.

With no fixed contract expiry publicly disclosed at Al-Akhdar, it remains to be seen whether any move to Azam would require a transfer fee or be structured differently, but Mano remains an Al-Akhdar player while interest from Tanzania continues to develop.
