Jocelyn Janneh: Wisla Krakow eye move for SC Bastia’s Guinea-Sierra Leone midfielder

Jocelyn Janneh, the Guinea-Sierra Leone defensive midfielder currently at SC Bastia, is being linked with a move to Polish Ekstraklasa side Wisla Krakow. The 23-year-old is under contract with the Corsican club until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal is expected to involve a transfer fee rather than a free move.

Janneh has established himself as a regular in France, making 87 league appearances for Bastia in the French system since joining the club in July 2022. His performances in the holding midfield role have come with limited attacking returns, registering three assists in Ligue 2, but he has accumulated 5,688 minutes of league football, underlining his status as a consistent selection.

Born in Freetown on 6 December 2002 and standing at 1.84m, Janneh represents both Guinea and Sierra Leone at national level and is a right-footed specialist in the defensive midfield position. He wears the number 66 shirt for Bastia and has also featured in the Coupe de France during his time with the club.

Bastia signed Janneh on a free transfer from Turkish side Kayserispor in July 2022, and his market value has since risen to around €800,000, having previously peaked at €1.5 million. That contractual security, combined with his age and accumulated game-time, means Bastia are in a strong position should formal talks with Wisla Krakow progress.

For now, Janneh remains an SC Bastia player with a year left to run after the current season on his deal in Corsica.
