Joachim Löw Confident After Germany’s Narrow Victory Over France
German coach Joachim Löw expressed calm and satisfaction following his team’s 1-0 win against France in a tense World Cup quarter-final clash.
Löw praised his squad’s tactical discipline, highlighting the defensive solidity that contained France’s key threats. “At the back, we were able to control their most dangerous moves,” he said. “Up front, we attacked through the wings because we knew the quality of their defensive midfielders, Pogba and Cabaye.”
The German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer also earned high praise from his coach. “We all have confidence in Neuer. It’s very reassuring for the defenders to know they have someone so reliable on his line. Even outside the box, he’s one of the best, if not the best, in his position.”
Looking ahead to the semi-finals, Löw remained measured but optimistic. “We’ll see what happens. We’ll do our best against either Brazil, the host nation, or Colombia, who are also excellent,” he said. “Reaching the semi-final is already a good achievement. Maintaining this level consistently speaks for itself, but we’ll aim to go even further.”
